Angelica Panganiban, a Filipino American model and actress, who also works as a television hostess as well as a comedian. She was diagnosed with double pneumonia that was caused by a severe strain of strep-pneumococcal. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston gave her ECMO an intervention that saved her life. She went septic and experienced multiple organ failure, including the kidneys that did not fully recover. The patient was required to change her daily routine around hemodialysis and later on peritoneal dialysate. After nearly 80 days in hospital, from near-death to long road to recovery, she finally returned home, but her life forever changed. Angelica's life was forever transformed after she was diagnosed with kidney dialysis. Her mother was the one who donated her kidney. On September 13 2013 Angelica and her mom went through an operation to transplant their kidneys at two remarkable hospitals across the street from each other-Emory University Hospital and Children's Health of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale's dream to be the world's most famous person has never wavered.
